Are you planning a tour to India? You must not skip this blog. In this blog, I, Elvin Siew Chun Wai, will tell you three dos and don’ts for your tour to India.

Let’s get started.

Wear Sensibly

You must be careful about your dresses, and you should wear dresses that don’t make you look like an alien amid crowd. Jeans, tops, trousers, and shirts are common in India. So, you can unhesitatingly wear them. But you should avoid shorts, skirts, and revealing dresses especially when you are travelling to a rural area. I, Elvin Siew Chun Wai, advise you to read about the dressing sense of people in different parts of the country. Once you know it, you can decide what dresses you should wear during your tour to India.

Do Eat Local Cuisines

India is a county with full of variety. Every has its own food habits. In every area, you will find a new food item to enjoy. So, when you visit India, you should not forget to eat foods and beverages of specific areas.

Respect Cow

In India, cow is respected as mother. So, when you are in India, you must show proper respect to cows. You should not say anything negative about this animal amid people.

Don’t Handshake with Women

India is a traditional country where shaking hands with women is not considered good by everybody. So, you must avoid handshaking with any woman you meet. In the same way, you must avoid handshaking with older people because Indians greet older people with folded hands or touch their feet. So, if you handshake with them, people around them may find it offensive.

Don’t Walk on the Roads Late Night

I, Elvin Siew Chun Wai, don’t advise you to walk freely during late night hours in India. It will be better to return your hotel by 9PM.

Don’t enter religious places in shoes or slippers

India is a religious country. People are very much concerned about maintaining the respect of their religious places. So, I, Elvin Siew Chun Wai, would advise you to enter a religious site barefoot. Considering these dos and don’ts will help you enjoy a great tour in India and return with pleasant memories.
