Varanasi is one of the most ancient cities in the world. It is a holy city for Hindus and Buddhists. Hindus and Buddhists across the globe reach out in large numbers to offer their prayers to their lords and get their blessings. However, it does not mean you will see only Hindus and Buddhists here. Rather, you will see people from all religions and communities exploring this beautiful city. In this blog, I, Elvin Siew Chun Wai, will tell you about five places you must explore during your Varanasi tour.
Let’s get started.
Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Dashaswamegh Ghat
Kashi Vishwanath temple is a highly revered place for Hindus. This temple is one of the oldest temples in the world. However, it has recently been rebuilt and its new architecture is very beautiful. I, Elvin Siew Chun Wai, also went to see the great architecture of the building. I also visited the temple and trust me spending time at this religious place was a great experience of my life. Close to the temple, you will find Dasaswamegh Ghat, the bank of the river Ganga. It is also a great place. Visit the ghat in the evening because it will allow you to experience Ganga Aarti. It is so amazing and full of positive energy that it will fill your senses with great positive energy.
Sarnath
It is the place where Gautam Buddha preached his first sermon to his pupils. It is a highly respectable place for Buddhists and recognized among the top four holiest places of Buddha religion. You mainly see devotees from Sri Lanka, Japan, Tibet, and Myanmar here. However, it does not mean that you will not see people from other religions here. Sarnath is crowded with people from tourists from all over the world.
Ram Nagar Fort &Museum
It is the home of the King Varanasi. It is amazing. It has beautiful balconies, decorated courtyards, fountains, elaborate halls, and a museum. Exploring the museum will allow you to see vintage cars, multi-coloured murals of kings, royal palanquins, etc.
I, Elvin Siew Chun Wai, would want to tell you that the city has a lot more to enjoy. So, visiting the city will be a never-to-forget experience of your life.
