Church of the Holy Sepulchre
Built over the ruins of a pagan temple in 312 AD, the church of the Holy Sepulchre is one of the most significant holy places for Christians from all over the world. The church includes two holiest sites: one, where Jesus was crucified and second, where he was buried and he returned.
Mount of Olives
The Mount of Olives is the place where Jesus taught his pupils, wept over Jerusalem, and ascended in to heaven. It has several churches and holy sites. Dominus Flevit Church is one of the most prominent churches here. It is the place where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. He wept over the fate of Jerusalem.
Via Dolorosa
The Via Dolorosa is known as a Way of Sorrow. It is the same way that Jews would have taken when forced by Roman soldiers. The present route was established in the 18th century in place of many earlier versions.
The Garden Tomb
Discovered in 1867, the Garden Tomb is known as an alternation of the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection of the Jesus. The Garden – a skull shaped rock formation – is known for its tranquility and majestic beauty. You will find many places to sit and lie down across the garden.
Mount Zion
Located outside the Old City Walls on the site of Gospel Events, Mount Zion is a holy place in Jerusalem. It also has many churches, including the Church of St. Peter and the Church of the Dormition.
Christian Quarter
The Christian Quarter is located inside the Old City Walls. It is recognized as the epicenter of Christianity in the world. It has more than 40 holy sites inside it, including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Church of the Dormition Abbey
Virgin Mary died here. The Church of the Dormition Abbey – located on a prominent located on Mount Zion – is a fortress-like structure with conical roof and towers.
